Admission Process

A Simple and Personalized Admissions Process

At Alta Career Academy, choosing the right school is an important decision. Our admissions process helps families learn about our personalized microschool environment and determine whether it is the right fit for their student.

We accept applications throughout the year and welcome new students on a rolling basis when space is available.

Step 1: Schedule a School Visit

The first step in the admissions process is to visit Alta Career Academy.

During your visit you will:

  • tour our learning studio

  • observe students working in our personalized learning environment

  • meet with school staff

  • learn how our microschool model works

This visit allows us to learn about your child’s educational goals and helps families understand how our personalized learning approach supports student success.

Step 2: Student & Family Conversation

During the visit, we will speak with the parent and student to better understand:

  • the student’s learning style

  • academic history

  • educational goals

  • whether our learning environment is a strong fit

Alta Career Academy is designed for students who benefit from a smaller, structured learning environment and who are ready to participate in their education.

Step 3: Admissions Application & Review

After the visit, families may submit an admissions application. There is no fee to apply.

As part of the application, families will be asked to provide:

  • Most recent report card and transcript

  • Psychoeducational evaluation (if applicable)

  • Individual Education Plan (IEP), if applicable

Our admissions team will review the application and academic records to determine whether Alta Career Academy may be a good fit for the student and our school community.

Students may also be invited to participate in a shadow session to experience our learning environment.

Families will be notified once an admissions decision has been made.

Step 4: Enrollment

If the student is accepted, families will receive enrollment instructions and an Enrollment Agreement.

Once the registration fee, tuition arrangements, and signed Enrollment Agreement are completed, the student will be officially enrolled.

At that time, our academic advisor will create an individualized academic learning plan to guide the student’s progress toward graduation.

Required Enrollment Documents

To complete enrollment, families will need to provide the following documents:

  • Student ID

  • Birth certificate

  • Parent ID and proof of address

  • Florida School Entry Health Exam (DH 3040)

  • Florida Certificate of Immunization (DH 680)

Florida law requires that original immunization and health records be on file before the student’s first day of school.

Admissions decisions are typically communicated within 3–5 business days.

Now Enrolling New Students

12th-grade students will not be considered for admissions after April 3, 2026.
